The PS consultant role sits is within Professional Services team providing technical consultancy in an on-site and remote capacity. The individual will represent Red Stack Tech during client engagements and will be expected to work primarily in a technical capacity delivering the clients requirements.

The technical delivery will cover items such as but not limited to:

  • Providing expert technical assistance and advice to customers
  • Represent Red Stack Tech during meeting and consultations with the client
  • Represent Red Stack Tech in training events or client presentations
  • Maintain an on-going client relationship and contact via phone, email and on-site visits
  • Plan and deliver work against pre-defined requirements and the clients required schedule
  • Provide clarity and direction where technical requirements seem vague or unclear
  • Travel to and from client sites, exhibitions and office locations both in the UK and worldwide
  • Where necessary be involved in pre-sales cycle and defining requirements in SOWs

The role does also contain non-technical responsibilities as well. These aspects are actively responding to client issues and concerns and liaising with Red Stack Tech Operations, Account Management and Managed Services teams where necessary to ensure successful client engagements. The PS consultant may be the sole representative for Red Stack Tech and should embrace both the technical and non-technical aspects of the role.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Onsite and remote consultancy work – travel will be required
  • Implementation, configuration and ongoing project delivery
  • Undertake Cloud based implementations
  • Plan and architect solutions to customer problems – post holders should be able to provide innovative solutions to customer requirements
  • Willingness to work outside normal business hours when required
  • Communicate with members of the team when issues arise
  • Provide mentoring for junior members of the team
  • Provide proactive solutions and look to enhance the company’s overall technical capabilities
  • Attend any customer on-site meetings as required
  • Provide status reports on time as required by customer contracts & Operations Office
  • Update and maintain all primary customer details
  • Create, update and maintain engagement reports and delivery documentation
  • Record all work items via Red Stack Tech’s timesheet system
  • Provide proactive support to help improve the customer environment
  • Provide customer health checks as required
  • Enthusiasm and willingness to address unfamiliar tasks
  • Take on new technologies as the company requires
  • Provide training to customers and colleagues where required

  • Oracle RDBMS 9i, 10g, 11g, 12c

  • Oracle Data Guard Implementation and BAU support
  • Oracle Enterprise Manager Configuration (Monitoring & Notifications)

  • Basic shell scripting
  • SQL Performance Analysis
  • AWR, ASH and ADDM Analysis
  • Oracle Data Pump

Desirable Technical Skills:

  • Oracle Engineered Solutions (Exadata, Exalytics, ODA)
